My name is Amanda Smith, and I am a mom of one little girl named Evelyn, Evy for short.  I have a very supportive husband named Chris, who I've been married to for 6 years now. 

I am a videographer for a great company called McNeal Video.  This business is owned by my Aunt Lynette, and she specializes in weddings.  We are a women team of 3, and love what we do!  She hired me 4 years ago, and I enjoy every minute of it!  I video all the weddings, and then help her edit them as well.  As much as I love weddings, I want to start something different.  There are several videographers for weddings in the Nashville area (McNeal Video being the best) , but no baby videographers.  I don't just want to be apart of one big day in a couple's life, but two or three big events!  Check out her journal entry on ME!!!

 

"Baby Stories" for me was an idea that I got about 2 years ago.  Researching the area for such videographers didn't exist, but in other areas of the country, they did. 

My daughter is 3 years old as of January 2008.  She is my everything, and I would give anything if I could relive the day that I delivered her.  It was a wonderful event, and I would love to look back and see our reactions when we saw her for the first few moments.  Chris, my husband was nervous, and had a camera in his hand.  The footage was terrible, and shakey!  He's not very good with a camera in fact.  I wish I had Lynette in the room with me, to film everything.   But oh well....I'm giving other couples the chance to relax, and not worry about cameras, or film, and enjoy the birth of their child. 

Now there are rules that come with this territory.  If you decide to have a hospital birth, then the hospitals will not let me film the actual head and body coming out.  As soon as the baby is out, and everything is okay, I'm there.  Or for couples that aren't interested in the whole laboring process, I can film family members in the waiting room, and grandparents seeing the baby for the first time.  Or other siblings of the baby.  It's really up to each couple how involved I am with them.  I've filmed everything from water births, to just being in the waiting rooms with the families.  This is a  personal decision on what is filmed.
